More than 660 international students attend Marquette each year to benefit from a stellar American education.

Northwestern Mutual

Hyler Communications was contracted in 2015 to lead communications on a large project to provide enhancements to several life insurance product offerings. We’ve also
provided on-site strategic input and communications for the company’s 2,000-employee Information Systems department. Lora Hyler participated on a committee with department executives and staff members to evaluate an Information Systems department-wide Communication Assessment, and was tasked with developing and implementing recommendations. Our company also provided strategic executive-level communications to migrate executives from Blackberry personal mobile devices to alternative solutions. We served as part of a communication team for a computer network upgrade project affecting 10,000 employees in 330 field offices nationwide.

UW Parkside

UW-Parkside is a gem in the University of Wisconsin system. Situated between Milwaukee and Chicago in rural Kenosha County, UW-Parkside is headed by a dedicated, talented Chancellor, faculty and staff. Hyler Communications provided marketing direction via a 6-month on-site marketing project involving the Chancellor, department head, faculty, staff, student and alumni. Executive speech writing for the Chancellor helped advance the university’s mission in the community. Marketing materials developed for the Admissions department, featuring information on the university, majors, professors and students, are still in use today to recruit and retain students.

UW Milwaukee

Hyler Communications was approached to upgrade website and collateral marketing material for the university’s department of Education. Materials were successfully used to recruit Special Education students to work in the Milwaukee Public School system. The department saw an increase in inquiries, prospective students attending informational sessions, and in overall enrollment.

Quad Graphics

Quad Graphics, a Sussex-based printing company serving clients worldwide, contracted with our company to write articles for its client newsletter for a global industrial supplier, Grainger. Interviews focused on customers and their use of Grainger products, including energy and safety solutions in corporate and industrial environments. One energy article was featured on the website of Mike Rowe, of Dirty Jobs television show fame.

Time Inc. was seeking a local angle to an Oak Creek, WI tragedy which received worldwide coverage: the Sikh Temple shooting by a gunman later determined to have ties to White supremacist groups. Using her journalism background, Lora Hyler was able to add the perspective of members of the Sikh community, as well as the community at large. Also, she garnered an exclusive interview with the single mother who, with her kids, unwittingly shared a duplex with the shooter. This ability to connect, empathize and pay great attention to detail to effectively tell a story is brought to every assignment.

Lora Hyler would be an asset to any organization. While at Northwestern Mutual, we had the opportunity to work together on several communications projects and it was a great experience. Lora’s writing ability is second-to-none, in addition to her professionalism in any situation. Her drafts come back clean and her copy is spot-on. She truly has a gift. I especially was impressed with her organizational skills through the course of the projects we worked on together, including her ability to be proactive and come in ahead of deadlines. I never had to worry about Lora holding up her end of the bargain – a true team player.

When I was out of the office on medical leave for two weeks, Lora managed communications deliverables for me with ease. She was a quick study on the material and made the transition smooth for our internal clients, including our highest ranking executives. Writing assignments varied from internal talking points to external stories on this particular project. She has a persuasive style that brings the reader in, as not all writers can. She truly is a gifted writer and storyteller.
